Micah LaGrave, MDiv

My Photo.jpg

Welcome! I am Micah LaGrave. Currently I am a ministerial intern at Unity of Austin. I also serve as the Pastoral Care Coordinator at Unity of Houston. I am a grounded, authentic, and self-aware individual with a passion to bring a transforming presence to my ministry. Comfortable with vulnerability, I seek common ground and to be a bridge between differing cultures, worldviews, and political divisions. Bringing a passion for Truth Principles, I seek to teach and live by example thus creating a container for people to encounter the mystery, power, and presence of GOD.

In my free time I like to crochet, color mandalas, do adult dot-to-dots (Think connecting 1,200 dots!), create art with pastel chalk, build Star Wars Lego sets, read, explore my surroundings, and spend quality time with my wife and cats!

I invite you into this glimpse of who I am and where I see myself going. Let’s explore together what could be!

Mission, Vision, & Philosophy of Ministry

Vision

To bring about transformational change to the world one person at a time.

Mission

To expand, evolve, and transform spiritual communities as they become the presence of Divine LOVE in the world.

Philosophy of Ministry

For me, the role of the minister is to equip, empower, engage and challenge spiritual communities as they seek to live out their mission, vision, and core values. It is a collaborative effort that, like a dance, is passionate, reflective, and, when done in a prayer consciousness, co-creates a most magnificent presence in the world. I also see my role as one who reflects back to the community what I am seeing and hearing. I believe in the power of healthy disagreement and conflict that is firmly rooted in love. It is the give and take of ideas and differing points of view that spur the collective imagination to create something more majestic than could be conceived by any one individual. I lead by example and seek to inspire the spiritual community to dig deeply into who and what they are at their core essence of being as the I AM presence in the world. I do not do the work for people, rather I get along side of people while holding the space of radical welcome for discovery, expansion, and transformation. I believe in clear communication, the interconnectedness of community, our interdependence, and the need to ignite a passion for sharing the life changing Unity principles to the wider world.
